Easter in Tupelo and Zouave!

Lydia and Jared and I drove up to Tupelo to be with Marianna on Easter Sunday morning; we worshiped at her church, First Methodist Tupelo.
Mare did a Grandma type Sunday dinner....roast beef and carrots and little taters!

Zouave was the title given to certain infantry regiments in the French army, normally serving in French North Africa between 1831 and 1962. The name was also adopted during the 19th century by units in other armies, especially volunteer regiments raised for service in the American Civil War. Zouave as it is known at Mississippi University for Women was a French Military Drill that the famous Emma Ody Pohl taught to the entire student body from 1912 until 1955. There are pictures of hundred of young women dressed in blue and white "doing the drill". This semester it was resurrected for the 125th Birthday of MUW; students could sign up for Zouave as a class. Both Kaite and Lydia participated and performed on Shattuck Lawn during Homecoming weekend.
